Sherrod Brown Discusses Record Fighting For Ohioans, Standing Up To Special Interests

COLUMBUS, OH  – Sherrod joined Morning Joe and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell to talk about his fight for workers and the Dignity of Work and how his opponent will always put himself before the people of Ohio.

Sherrod: “Well, the contrast is pretty clear. My record, as Claire knows, is to reach across the aisle and get things done, whether it was the PACT act, whether it was the CHIPS act, whether it’s fighting fentanyl at the border, and sanctioning China and Mexico and keeping this stuff out of our country and off our streets.”

Sherrod: “And my opponent [has] always looked out for himself. He’s even said he’s not going to work with people whom he disagrees with in Washington, which means he’s not fighting for Ohio, he’s not representing Ohio. And I think the best example of that is, even though Ohio strongly, decisively, importantly, passed [an] abortion rights constitutional amendment by thirteen points last fall, my opponent continues to say that we should have a national abortion ban – no exceptions for rape, no exceptions for life of the mother.”

Sherrod: “And we will make that contrast of: I fight for Ohio. I listen to people. I do roundtables all over the state. That’s how we, that’s how we [wrote] the PACT Act. That’s how we got a good infrastructure bill. That’s how we got the CHIPs bill – it’s going to create thousands of jobs in Ohio. That’s how you do this job.”

Sherrod: “I don’t see politics left to right. I see it as whose side are you on. That means taking on the drug companies and putting a cap…on insulin at $35 and putting a cap on out-of-pocket costs for seniors. It means passing the PACT Act, it means passing the pension bill, it means standing up for the child tax credit…”
