Chip in $20 to support Sherrod Brown's Campaign

Toledo Mayor Praises Sherrod’s Bipartisan Work to Deliver for Ohio Law Enforcement, Communities & Keep Ohioans Safe From Dangerous Fentanyl

COLUMBUS, OH  – Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz recently praised Sherrod for “[standing] up for Ohio families and law enforcement” by passing the bipartisan FEND Off Fentanyl Act, which will “make an important difference” in helping Ohio communities like Toledo combat the fentanyl epidemic. Kapszukiewicz, talking about the importance of the bill for Ohio communities safe, points out that Sherrod “will always do whatever is right for Ohioans.”

Kapszukiewicz goes on to note that Bernie Moreno “talks a big game but fails Ohioans when it comes to taking meaningful action,” pointing out that Moreno opposed multiple bills that included the FEND Off Fentanyl Act. Kapszukiewicz notes “while Sherrod Brown walks the walk, Bernie Moreno just talks.”

Toledo Blade: To the editor: Brown fentanyl act important tool in drug fight
Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz – June 2, 2024

  • After a year-long fight, Sherrod’s FEND Off Fentanyl Act was signed into law with significant bipartisan support.
  • By targeting fentanyl at its source, Sherrod is helping stop the flow of fentanyl into the United States and into Ohio.
  • Last year, Sherrod visited the southern border in Texas and met with border patrol agents to hear firsthand what resources they need to best protect our border and stop the influx of fentanyl.
  • Meanwhile, his opponent Bernie Moreno talks a big game but fails Ohioans when it comes to taking meaningful action.
  • Mr. Moreno opposed both the bipartisan border security bill and the FEND Off Fentanyl Act — more than once.
  • If Mr. Moreno were serious about strengthening border security, supporting Ohio law enforcement, and keeping our communities safe from dangerous fentanyl, he would support commonsense, bipartisan legislation.
  • Mr. Moreno even took it a step further by saying he wouldn’t be willing to work with Democrats to get legislation passed if he were elected.
  • The contrast couldn’t be clearer: while Sherrod Brown walks the walk, Bernie Moreno just talks.
  • I’m grateful to Sherrod Brown for standing with Ohioans, reaching across the aisle, and making our community more safe. His efforts will make an important difference.
