Chip in $20 to support Sherrod Brown's Campaign

Approaching 100 Days Until Election Day, Ohioans Lay Out Stakes of Senate Race

COLUMBUS, OH – Today, leaders from across Ohio representing workers, veterans, Black leaders, educators, and women held a virtual press conference to highlight the stakes of this election and discuss why they’re supporting Sherrod.

Ohioans on the call outlined how Sherrod has delivered for Ohioans and how he always fights for the Dignity of Work, while his opponent only looks out for himself.

“Across the state, workers of all backgrounds have come together in support of Sherrod. But our work is far from over,” said Ohio AFL-CIO President Tim Burga. “Over the next 100 days, workers in Ohio will be doing everything we can to reelect the most pro-worker Senator in the U.S. Senate.”

“Veterans across the state have met with Sherrod and know that Sherrod listens to us and takes action to address our needs. That’s what makes Sherrod so unique,” said retired Airman Melissa Rodriguez. “Sherrod has always been there for Ohio veterans and servicemembers every step of the way. He’s had our back, and now we must have his.”

“Ohioans have an important choice to make in only 100 days, and for the Black community, the choice is clear: we must reelect Sherrod Brown this November,” said Ohio Representative Phil Robinson. “Sherrod’s commitment to our communities and to our state runs deeper than legislation. The Dignity of Work is more than just a slogan for Sherrod, it’s how he does his job every day.”

“The future of our state comes down to the election on November 5, and we’re going to make sure the future of our students and educators is strong by reelecting Sherrod Brown,” said Ohio Federation of Teachers President Melissa Cropper. “Whether it’s by quadrupling the tax deduction educators can take for out-of-pocket classroom expenses, fighting for the Social Security Fairness Act to ensure educators receive full social security benefits, or making housing more affordable for our members – Sherrod will always fight for us.”

“Ohio labor, including women in labor, has no better champion than Sherrod Brown,” said SEIU Local 1199 member Lynn Radcliffe. “Sherrod has always fought to uplift Ohio workers, and while Sherrod stands with the majority of Ohioans who support healthcare decisions remaining between a woman and her doctor, Sherrod’s opponent supports a national abortion ban that would overrule the will of Ohio voters. That’s why these next 100 days are so important and why Ohioans must come together and fight for Sherrod like he has always fought for us.”
